The ACLU-NJ successfully ended an unconstitutional practice at Phillipsburg High School, where administrators had continually denied Lehigh-Pocono Committee of Concern's (LEPOCO) requests to provide Phillipsburg High School students with information on military recruiting, alternative career options, and alternative ways to serve one's country including through pro-peace volunteerism. While military recruiters had been permitted access to students at forums in the school, most notably tabling during student lunchtime, LEPOCO has been denied any and all access sought. In response to the ACLU-NJ's demand letter, Phillipsburg is now allowing the peace group to table at the high school to the same extent it allows the military to table (once per month). The first of these information tables by LEPOCO took place in early March without incident.
