Volunteer!
Because the ACLU is a non-profit organization with limited resources, we rely on volunteers to help in every aspect of our work. The ACLU of New Jersey is always looking for volunteers to help with research, as cooperating attorneys, complaint counselors, general office workers, community watchdogs and countless other jobs.
Most of our volunteer opportunities are in our offices in Newark. Some volunteers make a regular weekly commitment to volunteer, others help out at periodic events or public education programs. If you've got some time, complete our Volunteer Inquiry Form and we will be in touch with you.

We will send you periodic (you won't be bombarded, we promise) e-mail updates on our priority issues and action bulletins that you can use to make a difference as an advocate for freedom, from writing your legislator to joining a protest. Join the list by sending an e-mail with your name, address and e-mail address to activist@aclu-nj.org. We need your mailing address to determine which legislative districts you live in. If you do not provide that information, we cannot send you legislator-specific e-mail alerts.
