Maia Raposo is Communications Director at the ACLU of New Jersey. In this role, she leads the development of strategic communications campaigns to amplify the organization’s work and expand its reach.

Maia brings more than ten years of experience in advocacy communications, digital marketing, public relations, and social justice work. She previously served as Communications and Marketing Director for the global environmental advocacy non-profit Waterkeeper Alliance, overseeing all internal and external communications channels and activities, including content creation, digital strategy, media relations, and brand marketing. Previous to Waterkeeper Alliance, she managed Brooklyn Brewery’s community partnerships and brand marketing team and completed a year of AmeriCorps with Hunger Free America as a food justice community organizer.

Maia holds a bachelor’s degree from The New School’s Eugene Lang College, where she studied the intersections of the natural and social sciences and how they can drive progressive policy change.
