Liza Weisberg is a staff attorney at the American Civil Liberties Union of New Jersey, where her work focuses on voting rights.

Liza previously worked as a staff attorney with the Southern Poverty Law Center’s voting rights practice group, leading outreach, advocacy, and litigation aimed at protecting and expanding access to the ballot in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. Liza also challenged unconstitutional jail conditions as a consulting attorney with the ACLU, organized voter protection programs as an attorney with the Democratic Party of Georgia during the 2020 election cycle, and clerked for the Honorable Kimba M. Wood in the Southern District of New York. Before clerking, Liza spent the first two years of her legal career as a Justice Catalyst fellow with the American Civil Liberties of New Jersey. She is very excited to be back and to be working again to make New Jersey a freer and fairer place.

Liza graduated from Harvard Law School, where she served as the Executive Director of the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau, represented clients in criminal show-cause hearings as a student attorney with Harvard Defenders, and was an editor of the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review.
