Shira Wisotsky is a law fellow at the ACLU-NJ, where she works on litigation and other advocacy related to immigrants’ rights.

Before joining the ACLU-NJ, Shira clerked for the Honorable Jaynee LaVecchia of the Supreme Court of New Jersey, was a foreign law clerk for the Honorable Esther Hayut of the Supreme Court of Israel, and clerked for the Honorable Pamela K. Chen of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Shira received her bachelor’s degree from Barnard College, Columbia University, and her law degree, with honors, from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. While in law school, Shira was a member of the year-long Civil Rights Clinic, an editor for the Cardozo Law Review, and a fellow for the Public Service Scholar program. Before law school, Shira worked as a case-handling paralegal at the Legal Aid Society in New York City.
