Ban the Box

Bars large employers from making inquiries about prospective employees' criminal history until after a first interview, with certain exceptions; bars large employers from publishing an advertisement for an open position that indicates prospective candidates with criminal histories will not be hired, unless existing law or regulation prohibits hiring an individual with a criminal history for that position; creates civil penalties for employers who violate the law.
