Marijuana Decriminalization

Removes possession of 50 grams or less of marijuana from the list of disorderly persons offenses and creates a $50 civil penalty for such possession. With more than 200,000 marijuana arrests in NJ in the past decade with tremendous racial disparities, these arrests waste crucial police resources and impose devastating harms on communities of color.
