Arrest Rate by Municipality, 2000-2013

From 2000-2013, the annual statewide marijuana possession arrest rate was roughly 230 arrests per 100,000 people. Some municipalities have rates more than ten or 15 times the state average, suggesting that arrest rates are heavily determined in many locations by the presence of tourists or temporary visitors.

Only municipalities that averaged 30 or more arrests for marijuana possession per year between 2000 and 2013 were included in the study.
