Advancing Immigrants’ Rights

We must build a fair and welcoming state for all people – regardless of immigration status. It’s past time for New Jersey to end its participation in the federal detention and deportation system, as states like Connecticut and California have done. New Jersey must pass the Immigrant Trust Act.

Far too many immigrant New Jerseyans and their families live in fear that a routine interaction with law enforcement, registering for healthcare, or even a school drop-off will result in separation from their loved ones and deportation.

Hi, my name is [YOUR NAME]. I am a New Jersey resident, and I am calling to urge [Senate President Scutari/Assembly Speaker Coughlin] to advance the Immigrant Trust Act (S3672/A4987). Every day that we fail to pass the Immigrant Trust Act is another day that immigrant New Jerseyans live in fear that an emergency room visit, or a school drop-off will lead to family separation, detention, and deportation. I urge you to pass the Immigrant Trust Act now and support immigrant communities across the state.
