We, the undersigned organizations, submit this statement in support of immigrant communities directly impacted by the current contract between Hudson County and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement ("ICE") to detain immigrants at Hudson County Correctional Facility. The status quo is unacceptable and requires meaningful change. We demand that Hudson County officials work with our community members, clients, loved ones, and constituents to make sure that the voices of those impacted most directly by immigration detention and deportation policies are heard in this process. For that reason, we demand that Hudson County table the pending resolution and meet with us and other impacted groups to hear our concerns.
