NEWARK – In response to Gov. Sherrill signing S2260/A2218, which will protect patients and providers of reproductive health and gender-affirming care services in New Jersey, DaWuan Norwood, policy counsel at the ACLU of New Jersey, issued the following statement:
“We celebrate the meaningful progress New Jersey has made to safeguard access to essential health care services by passing S2260/A2218. This law will create vital protections to ensure patients and providers can continue to access and administer critical health care services without fear of intimidation or retribution. We applaud Gov. Sherrill for signing this bill into law and affirming our state’s commitment to the safety, autonomy, and dignity of all people. Everyone should be able to access reproductive health care and life-saving services when they need them, and the new protections from this bill will help make that a reality in New Jersey.”
