Voting is the cornerstone on which all our rights rest, and as attacks on civil liberties continue across the country, protecting the right to vote is among the most pressing issues of our time.
In the upcoming 2026 General Election, New Jerseyans will vote for all 12 of the state’s seats in the U.S. House of Representatives and one seat in the U.S. Senate. The result will shape New Jersey’s political landscape for years to come.
We’re organizing and building people power to ensure every eligible voter can vote and that the will of voters is respected – because these rights are the foundation of our democracy.
We kicked off National Voter Registration Day by helping college students register to vote and sharing ways they can get involved in advocacy that impacts their communities.
Together with our partners, we hosted public education opportunities where people across the state were able to learn more about the voting process, how to seek a court order to vote, and the legal safeguards that apply to voters while casting their ballots.
In honor of Annual World Homeless Day, we supported a voter registration event in Newark focused on increasing voter registration among communities who are experiencing homelessness. For more information about your right to vote while unhoused in New Jersey, read our overview.
As Election Day approaches, we will continue to use every tool at our disposal to defend our democracy and ensure that voters can freely make informed decisions about the critical civil liberties issues that impact their lives.
Over the next month, we’re hosting trainings and Get Out the Vote volunteer days to engage with community members and empower them to cast their votes.
