Early voting for New Jersey’s 2026 General Election is happening right now. It’s time to make your voice heard – and vote like your rights depend on it.
When we vote, we elect the people who will represent us and shape policies about the most pressing issues of our time. In the 2026 General Election, New Jersey voters will cast ballots in races for all 12 of the state’s seats in the U.S. House of Representatives and one seat in the U.S. Senate. As attacks on our civil rights and liberties continue across the country, the stakes could not be higher. This election will shape our state’s future for years to come.
Voting is the cornerstone of our democracy, and every eligible voter deserves to have their voice heard without intimidation or interference. That’s why we’re working to ensure voting is free and fair in the Garden State.
Whether you plan to vote by mail, in person during early voting, or on Election Day, we hope that you cast your ballot with your values in mind.
You can vote early in person from October 24, 2026, to November 1, 2026. During the early voting period, only certain polling locations are open, but you can vote at any of the early voting locations in your county. Find your early voting locations today. These polling locations will be open during the early voting period from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Monday through Saturday and from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Planning to vote on Election Day? Election Day in New Jersey is Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Polls are open from 6 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Election Day. Make a plan to vote by finding your Election Day polling place.
In addition to in-person voting, you can also vote by mail by completing an application and returning it to your county clerk. The county clerk must receive your mailed application by October 27, 2026 (seven days prior to the election). You may also apply in person at your county clerk’s office until 3 p.m. on November 2, 2026, the day before the election.
Once you have applied for and received a vote-by-mail ballot, you can return your ballot in one of three ways: by mail (postmarked by 8 p.m. on Election Day, November 3, 2026), using a ballot drop box (deposited by 8 p.m. on Election Day, November 3, 2026), or in person at your county Board of Elections office (by 8 p.m. on Election Day, November 3, 2026).
And before you step into the polling booth, make sure you know your voting rights.
