Elyla Huertas is a Staff Attorney at the ACLU-NJ, where she conducts litigation and advocacy on a range of civil rights and civil liberties issues. She also supervises the intake department and internship program and works with the organization’s volunteers.
Prior to joining the ACLU-NJ, Elyla worked for five years at a private firm. She received her bachelor’s degree from Douglass College of Rutgers University and her law degree from Rutgers Law School in Newark, New Jersey. While attending Rutgers Law, she was the Managing Editor of the Women’s Rights Law Reporter and worked in the Community and Transactional Lawyering Clinic.
