Join ACLU-NJ, AAPI-NJ, and Asian Americans from across New Jersey as we build our advocacy muscles, attend a Senate or Assembly Session, and make our voices heard!
Asian American Advocacy Day is an opportunity for everyone – from students, to advocacy beginners, to those who live and breathe politics – to come together, demystify the legislative process, and ultimately to speak truth to our collective voice and power. There will be a Virtual Training on Friday, May 16 at 1pm to learn more about our legislative priorities, including the New Jersey Voting Rights Act, the Immigrant Trust Act, and budget advocacy, as well as the day's agenda. Light breakfast and lunch will be provided, and group transportation from Montclair is available.
Reach out to advocacy@aapinewjersey.org for more information or to receive a form for your student’s excused absence. Public school students grades 6-12 are granted one state-excused absence to participate in civics education opportunities!
