2024 was a critical year for ACLU-NJ, our partners, and our supporters. Deploying our expertise in the courts, in the legislature, and in our communities, we worked hard to preserve and expand civil rights and liberties and to build a strong firewall against attacks from the Trump administration.

In 2023, advocacy by the ACLU of New Jersey secured new protections for our most fundamental freedoms.

2022 marked an important milestone in our organization’s evolution. For the first time in our history of more than 60 years, the ACLU of New Jersey adopted a strategic framework that doesn’t just outline our priority issues but sets an overarching vision for the organization to guide us through 2026

In 2021, we thought deeply about our vision, our mission, and how to best achieve it. At the core of it is justice. Justice is the beating heart that powers the work of the ACLU, as you'll read about in the stories in this report. We're proud to provide a small window into our work.
